A Peek At Buy Bell Tent

Maybe you're new to backpacking. Perhaps you bought a backpacking tent several years ago, it has served you well, but you have either acquired a hiking partner or have worn the thing out and need to replace it. You walk into the outdoors store and there is a plethora of choices available-the bells and whistles on some of the newer models look really enticing. You wander around aimlessly and finally, completely confused, you leave the store with your head spinning. Go to the coffee shop on the corner and order your favorite liquid courage and we'll get through this. The information that follows will help you sort out the confusion.First, ignore all those beautiful backpacking accommodations for a moment. The first thing we want to do is define lightweight. For backpacking purposes, we will define a lightweight backpacking tent as weighing three pounds or less per occupant. With that proviso, we have significantly narrowed the number of backpacking tents that we will have to evaluate.

Next, think about where you are likely to be camping, whether you will be alone or with a companion, and the climate conditions you are likely to encounter. Based on the answers to these questions, we will be able to narrow down the type of accommodation that will satisfy your needs from the following: Traditional 3-season tents draw us because they are emotionally more comfortable. We have used them since scout camp and we tend to stick with what we know. However, there are other reasons why 3-season tents are so popular. They are full coverage and give us great protection from a large range of conditions bugs, rain, snow a 3-season tent delivers. The downside is weight. A 3-season tent weighs more than other lightweight options. A hammock tent deserves a second glance if you tend to camp in areas of heavily forested, sturdy trees. This is truly a lightweight option providing rain, snow, and bug protection in an extremely lightweight package, sometimes less and one pound. Another asset of the hammock tent is that it can be used as a camp chair while eating.

During a rain shower, this gives you a dry place to sit with a rain fly over your head. The disadvantage is that during cold weather, there is nothing in this system to prevent heat from being drawn away from beneath the body. Using an insulating sleeping pad can minimize this disadvantage. A tarp tent comes in two different styles in an engineered model and a simple length of nylon fabric fashioned into a tent shape. This choice is extremely light but is not for the faint of heart. This one takes practice to learn to pitch well. Practice before you hike or you will likely be frustrated and disappointed. However, once you master the art of pitching this tent, you have one of the lightest options available. This style has no floor and no sides. Its main purpose is to protect you from wind and precipitation.
